Description
"Surface wind data from 20 Prototype Regional Observing and Forecasting Service (PROFS) surface mesonetwork stations have been analyzed for the month of July 1981 to determine characteristic flow patterns over northeast Colorado. Streamline analyses of the surface flow over this region have been prepared on an hourly basis."

Description
A dry, two-dimensional version of the Colorado State University Multi-Dimensional Cloud/Mesoscale Model was used to simulate the cross-valley dynamic and thermodynamic structure in deep mountain valleys during the morning transition period when the nocturnal inversion is destroyed.

Description
Geosynchronous satellite data were employed for a climatological study of two summers' data and for a specific case study to observe convective interactions between the eastern slopes of the Colorado Rocky Mountains and the plains of eastern Colorado and western Kansas.

Description
A climatological analysis of regionally potentially bad air quality days near Denver and Grand Junction, Colorado has been prepared. These bad air quality days are defined as days which have a small volume of atmosphere available for the dilution of contaminants released within the region.

Description
Understanding the variability of the Earth's climate is complicated by the mutual interactions that exist between the atmosphere and the oceans of the Earth. The purpose of the research described in this paper is to attempt to understand the rudiments of such interactions by constructing a simple 1-D atmosphere-ocean model in order to examine the sensitivity of the equilibrium of a coupled climate "system" to changes in the imposed external forcings....

Description
A study of ozone chemistry and meteorological processes occurring in the eastern North Pacific stratocumulus regime. This climatological regime is characterized by widespread, persistent low cloud and an air history that does not include contact with continents for many days. Since both ozone and important in the earth-atmosphere energy balance, the processes studied here are important in the system interactions that govern climate.
