When the Japanese high school football team, the Devil Bats, schedule a game against the forceful Taiyo Sphinx, they are excited because the winner will scrimmage against a high school championship team in the United States. However, star player Sena and the rest of the team must first break down the Sphinx's invincible "pyramid" front line.

Hiruma's clever video editing convinces the American team to stay in the big game after they back out with no explanation; and Monta and Sena find a new kicker in a surprising place.

The Devil Bats and Seibu Wild Gunmen head to Texas, where they form a single team and compete in another tounament, . but this one is played without helmuts, putting Eyeshield 21's identity at risk for discovery.

The Devil Bats are up against the NASA Aliens who just happen to have a huge front line and a quarterback who throws like a rocket launcher. Will Sena's speed be enough to give them an edge?
