In an effort to provide local health partners comprehensive guidance for the investigation and control of communicable diseases in Colorado, the CDPHE Communicable Disease Epidemiology Program is creating the Colorado Communicable Disease Manual (CD). In general, these chapters pertain to sporadic cases of reportable conditions. Additional chapters and supplemental forms will be added as they are completed.

Description
Foodborne outbreaks are a notifiable condition in Colorado and, when identified, must be reported to the state or local public health department. The majority of foodborne outbreaks are investigated by local public health agencies, which supply summary reports to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE). This report summarizes reported foodborne outbreaks during 2000-2009.
